Relgious life of the school

At Holy Rosary Religious Education and SMSC are priority.  We want children to develop skills that will equip them for later life and help them become amazing citizens.

We promote a broad and balanced Catholic curriculum as Holy Rosary is a Catholic school which seeks to live out the values of Jesus Christ. We promote these values by our words and deeds, and Catholic doctrine and practice therefore permeates every aspect of the school’s activity. We provide a Catholic curriculum, which is broad and balanced, recognising that every pupil is unique and is created in the image of God (Gen1:27).

Our curriculum is designed to enable every pupil to discern their vocation and to be well-equipped to follow it as active citizens in service to the world. “The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful. And this occurs through a rich path made up of many ingredients. This is why there are so many subjects – because development is the result of different elements that act together.” Pope Francis

We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and strong pastoral support. We incorporate democratic principles, value the rule of law, support individual liberty and foster a community in which different faiths and beliefs are respected.”

We promote Pupil voice through our  School council, pupil chaplaincy, wellbeing council and health champions .

The mission statement, displayed throughout school and in every classroom, we feel, is a powerful declaration of how we bear witness to a loving God! It is our distinctive purpose, it is what makes our school special and it is our remit in our journey – meeting God each day. Jesus Christ is at the heart of everything we do and we use the principles of the 5W’s to live his word and become good Christian role models.
