Class Information
In Reception, all children will have a reading book to take home. Each child will have their own individual reading day, this is shown by a sticker on the front of the reading record. We ask that children return their book on this day so that they can read with an adult and have their book changed. The children also have a second book, or a sound mat – this links to what they are learning that week during our Read, Write Inc phonics sessions. |
Please remember that you can also access the Bug Club website. If you need help logging in, please speak to us at hometime.
Tapestry
Tapestry is a way of sharing your child’s learning with you at home. We will use Tapestry to send photographs and videos of what your children have been doing at school, and any wow moments to show their achievements. We also ask that parents add to their child’s learning journey too, so we can see what your child has been doing at home. If you need any support with this, you can ask one of the teachers in your child’s class. |
EYFS Curriculum
Practice in EYFS is led by the four guiding principles that shape our approach in our Early Years setting, these are:
-
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and is resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
-
Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
-
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers.
-
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
Children in both our Nursery and Reception classes follow the EYFS Guidance, which has seven main areas of learning.
The Prime Areas:
-
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
-
Communication and Language
-
Physical Development
The Specific Areas:
-
Literacy
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive Arts
